Heather Jo Mashburn
Associate Director for ACT
Heather Jo is the Associate Director of the Appalachian & the Community Together (ACT) Foundation and provides leadership and strategic direction for all co-curricular service and community engagement opportunities. Heather Jo believes that mutually beneficial community engagement can serve as a vehicle for student leadership, for discovering one's purpose, and for fostering deeper impact and transformation.
In addition to leading the ACT Foundation, Heather Jo also works closely with over 150 community partners to intentionally connect the University with the larger community. Heather Jo also serves as co-director of the Plemmons Leadership Scholars program.
Heather Jo earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Masters in Higher Education Administration from Georgia Southern University. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership with research focused on spiritual well-being and spiritual experiences for college women.
