Leadership Scholarships - Due June 20, 2021
Because of the generosity of many members of the Appalachian community, several scholarships are available to current ASU students based upon their campus involvement, leadership, and service.
If you feel that you meet the eligibility requirements for one or more of these scholarships, please apply through the AppSync form.
Note that all applications must be received by midnight on Sunday, June 20. Recipients will be contacted in July.

Lynne Miller Perryman Memorial Scholarship
To provide scholarship aid to students who show evidence of leadership, academic integrity and a commitment to service to Appalachian State University and the local community. Preference should accrue to those applicants with a demonstrated financial need and who have shown devotion to their academic studies.
Lee H McCaskey Scholarship for Academic and Leadership Excellence
Proceeds from this endowment are directed to provide scholarship aid to students who have demonstrated academic and leadership excellence and those who have completed the freshman year at Appalachian.
Dr. John and Jan Thomas Leadership Scholarship for Appalachian Upperclassmen
Proceeds from this endowment will be used to provide scholarship assistance to worthy and talented students (junior and seniors) who demonstrate exemplary leadership skills. Must have an earned 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA.
Patton Leadership and Service Scholarship
The Scottie Patton Student Leadership and Service Scholarship will be awarded during the fall and spring semester of the academic year provided the following requirements are met:
- Be enrolled at Appalachian State University as a full-time student (12 or more hours)
- Maintain a 2.8 cumulative GPA
- Remain an active member of one of the following student organizations:
- The Black Student Association (BSA)
- The Order of the Black and Gold
- Ladies Elite
- Minority Women’s Leadership Circle
- Minority Men’s Leadership Circle
