ACT, APP Builds A Home Community Partners
Lillian Abernathy is a Graduate Assistant who works with Heather Jo Mashburn, Associate Director of Appalachian and the Community Together (ACT), to assist with community engagement and the partnership with App Builds A Home. Lillian believes that serving the community serves as an important connection between the university and town. It also allows for the sharing of experiences between individuals as well as an important catalyst for personal improvement, by teaching compassion and understanding to those participating.
Lillian is a recent graduate of Appalachian State University where she majored in Sociology with a concentration in Family and Intimate Relationships. Beginning Fall 2019, Lillian will continue at Appalachian State to receive her Master’s in Social Work.
With a service heart, Lillian is excited to work with the ACT Office and to partner with App Builds A Home that allows ASU students to give back to Watauga County.
